hangout. unconventional collection designed by hangar design group Saturday, April 19, 2014

During my weekend of full immersion into the Design Week I had the chance to visit the location where the Hangar Design Group showed its latest projects. At the same time, I had the pleasure to meet two members of the team: both inspiring with something special to transmit.
Their location was small, but full of inspirations exhibiting pieces of design with great attention to details. The piece that involved me the most has been the lighting system - Peggy / Futura for Vistosi - a special edition for the Futura collection, a series of hanging lamps made with blown white glass and black metal.
This project, as said by the members I met, is made for the new café and restaurant of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, as a tribute to the collector.
The structure of the lighting system recalls the first years of the '900, and in my opinion there is a strong connection with the famous Bauhaus and its philosophy.

I felt in love with this piece because of its structure, purity and neatness: a good combination and equilibrium between black and white, playing with light and space.
