luminous colored spheres by team lab Thursday, January 9, 2014

Tokyo-based team lab invite visitors to go into a hypnotic world of chroma, sounds and luminescence.

The spheres suspended above the floor respond to human touch, in fact with human contact the spheres change the color of their "external skin".
In this case, technology and art are working together, creating a breathtaking installation. This artwork is part of the exhibit Distilling senses: a journey through art and technology in asian contemporary art.

The first time that I saw this artwork, immediately came to my mind another artist that creates emotional and sensitive artwork using technology: I'm talking about Tomas Saraceno.
I think there is a similarity between them, both are using technology, and both create atmospheres in which we get lost, overwhelmed by colors and other visual stimuli.
